Keighley Pride encourages community engagement and support for LGBTQ+ people. The festival creates safe spaces for people to come together and celebrate across age groups, talents, abilities and backgrounds and promote awareness and support. LGBTQ+ people and allies are safe to celebrate their joy and to be themselves. It is paramount for people who identify within LBGTQ+ to be visible and feel part of the wider community and by having public and accessible events, Keighley Pride is creating possibilities for networking and relationship building between organisations in the local community. The Leap supported Keighley Pride to develop their community-led programmes through one of the Festival Awards.
