project info
This was the first time the community of residents at Bradford Moor Park have taken part or led anything related to Halloween. They decorated the park, had a treasure trail, a lot of participatory activities and a light trail in the evening. The activities included paper-mâché head-making, pumpkin carving, lantern-making and storytelling. There were over 280 participants which proved a huge success and demonstrated an appetite for more arts and creative activity in Bradford Moor. In addition to the creative benefits of the project, since installing the lighting for the light trail in the park, it has resulted in a safer outdoor space and has since reduced anti-social behaviour in the park. This project was great at showing wider social impacts of arts and culture in communities. The Leap supported Naz to run the event through our Changemaker programme which supports local individuals to lead on arts and cultural activity that bring people together to address local issues and needs.
