Cottingley Summer Bash - Helen Eteson
The Cottingley Summer Bash is a project which aims to organise a free, inclusive festival in Cottingley, celebrating the community's diversity and fostering positive engagement. Building on the success of a previous event, the team plans live music, children's activities, a BBQ, and interactive workshops. Recognising Cottingley's socio-economic challenges, especially for young people, the festival seeks to provide a day of joy without financial barriers. The team consisting of local residents and volunteers focus on community involvement. They aim to make the event an annual, community-led celebration. To address low arts participation, especially among teenagers, workshops and youth outreach programs are planned. The ultimate goal is to create a vibrant, community-driven event that reflects and benefits the diverse population of Cottingley.
