The Leap is a Creative People and Places programme backed by Arts Council England and other funding and strategic partners. We achieve our aims by increasing leadership and participation in arts, culture and heritage in areas with historically low cultural engagement. 

The Leap’s mission is access to arts and culture for everyone, everywhere and a vision to empower people and places to create social change through arts and culture. 

We back people with creative ideas, with Awards of financial and non-financial support. Our Award Winners' creative activities cover a range of outcomes, for example tackling climate change and inequality, improving wellbeing, building skills or greater social cohesion. 

We are on a journey to push the boundaries of what local communities can do using heritage, arts and culture to create social change in local communities/ 

We invite you to join us and help shape proposals for a major community-led heritage programme aiming to empower communities across Calderdale to bring their ideas for heritage to life through community-led projects and activities.
